GVK q1 2015 newsletter

2015 opened up with our Creation of the World rite in January.  We honored Woden and his two brothers for the seminal act of sacrifice which ushered in the world upon which we tread.

As is our tradition, we took an omen to give us some insight to how the rest of the year would progress:  Peorth, Lagu, Nied.   Wryd and chance, crossing waters, constraint of choice.

Your kindred seer believes 2015 is going to be a BIG year for many individuals.  A time of transitions, finding new paths, and building upon past actions.  There is a need to grow, to explore new shores, and to make the best of limited choices available.  We shall see how it turns out …

Our February rite to Ing was canceled due to weather, our first such instance in three years.  You won this round, frost giants, but we will be back next year!

Later in the month we had a pubmoot in Frederick attended by a few regulars.  I (Jeremy) was sick and could not attend. I am told there was good food to be had, and Crystal related there were good beards to be admired.

Just recently in March we honored Hretha.  We had an excellent turn out.  Crystal taught a workshop on butchering chickens.   The omens were:  Eh (ehwaz), ur (uruz), thorn (thurisaz).  “In fellowship there is strength against adverse forces.”    A fine message if there ever was one.

It has been a rough, cold winter.  We are looking forward to spring and summer.  We continue to grow, both as a group and as an individuals, with all the joys and lessons that come with growth.  We do hope you stay with us for fellowship as we see where life takes us.

Hail the gods. Hail the Ancestors.  Hail the Folk.
